The battery disconnect switch is used to separate the batteries from the 12-volt distribution panel and converter charging system. Airstream uses two different types of battery disconnect switches
Manual Disconnect Switches (Bambi, Basecamp)
Shore: If the battery disconnect is in the "Off/Store" position, the battery does not charge with an external power source (Plugged in). The disconnect switch must be in the "On/Use" position to charge from shore power.
The solar system and plugging into the vehicles charge line (7-way) will charge the batteries in either position.
Electronic Battery Disconnect Switch
With the electronic battery disconnect feature, the batteries will charge with any source in both the "on/use" or "off/store" position.
