Airstream became aware of a safety issue concerning the Dexter axles that use the Nev-R-Lube bearings on June 16, 2022. As the result of discovering a washer may fail and lead to a dislodged wheel, we notified dealerships to pause customer deliveries on all impacted travel trailers. Airstream models that include Dexter Nev-R-Lube bearings consist of Caravel, Flying Cloud, International, Globetrotter, Pottery Barn, and Classic.
In collaboration with Dexter, we have identified a solution and we are actively implementing the fix as quickly and safely as possible.

How can I get support to get my Airstream fixed?
Please call the Dexter Axle Warranty Department at 574-413-9066 to coordinate a time and location to complete the service recall. If you have further questions or need assistance, contact the Airstream Support team by submitting a support ticket.
I'm at a campground or away on a trip at the moment. How can I get an RV technician dispatched to my location?
Please contact the Dexter Axle Warranty Department at 574-413-9066 to coordinate a remote RV service technician. There is no cost to the owner and the service technician will be dispatched to your location to properly address the recall. Please avoid towing the affected Airstream travel trailer.
Should I tow my Airstream travel trailer to the nearest service department?
No — If your serial number is affected by this recall, do not tow your Airstream travel trailer. A service technician will be dispatched to your location.
Do I have to pay for the Dexter Axle recall repair?
No — all costs are covered.
Can I try to fix the recall myself?
No — We strongly recommend against attempting to address the recall. The repair should be completed by a qualified RV service technician.
How long does the repair take to complete?
This recall service takes approximately 30 minutes per axle (2 axles = 1 hour).
I'm waiting to pick up my new Airstream from my dealership. Will the recall be addressed before I take delivery?
Airstream has paused the delivery of all travel trailers starting June 16, 2022. The replacement part(s) are being expedited to dealerships as of June 22, 2022. The Airstream dealership service technicians will be performing the recall prior to the delivery of your travel trailer to ensure towing safety.
My serial number is affected by the recall but it hasn't finished production yet. What's going on?
Airstream has chosen to include all affected axles regardless if they've completed production or not. These affected axles are proactively being repaired here at the Airstream Travel Trailer plant.
What is Airstream doing in response to the Dexter Axle recall announcement?
For each affected retail customer, Airstream is mailing an announcement letter, calling the phone number on record, and releasing email communications beginning June 22, 2022.
