How does the inverter in an Airstream work?
The 1,000W pure sine wave inverter takes your 12V battery power and inverts to 110V/120V so that you can power specific outlets in the travel trailer and the devices plugged into them (Laptop, T.V., etc.). This power supply is great for laptop computers, cell phones, a T.V., and other appliances that don't draw a large amount of energy or that don't have a heating element.
Always be sure to know the wattage of the device you’re plugging in before you turn the inverter on and remember to turn it off when you’re not using it.
The built-in 1000W power inverter will not support the operation of appliances such as microwaves/convection ovens, toasters, coffee pots, electric frying pans, or other items that exceed a maximum power draw of 1,000W so you’ll need to be plugged into shore power to utilize these appliances.
*The 1000W power inverter is not a standard feature on the Bambi or Basecamp travel trailers.
