Mistakes happen, and sometimes those mistakes come with battle scars. A small (or big) dent on the exterior of your travel trailer is one battle scar that tells a story of your adventure. While it’s likely that you are feeling a range of emotions at the moment, they usually fade overtime. Unfortunately, that doesn’t happen with exterior dents in Airstream travel trailers.
You have two options:
- Leave the dent and use it as a reminder of your Airstream Adventure story.
- Fix the dent and restore your shiny silver bullet to its original look.
If you decide to fix a small dent, it’s recommended to hire a paintless dent removal professional who will be able to remove the dent without causing further damage. Take note that it’s best to not try this with travel trailers over 5 years old as there is a chance the clear coating may pull off in the process due to sun damage on the coating.
If your travel trailer is over 5 years old, or if the dent is large or contains creases, replacing the metal panel will restore the Airstream to its original look. To do this, schedule an appointment with your local Airstream dealer.
